Faster P.P.M.R (Positively Positive Movie Review)

Faster stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Billy Bob Thornton and it follows a man, just released from prison, on a rampage to avenge his brother's killers. Simply put, this film is amazing! If you love high adrenaline and revenge movies you will love this.

Johnson plays his part perfectly as a man with a haunted past and he even shows moments of weakness and sensitivity that make you root for him even more. Most people wouldn't root for the killer but, under these circumstances, you find yourself in your seat going, "Get him! Kill that jerk-off!"

For the first time in a long time, I actually enjoyed Billy Bob Thornton in a role! I found him convincing as the police officer tracking Johnson and I loved the back story to his own tainted life. Also great was Carla Gugino who played Thornton's reluctant partner and she added even more depth to the story, especially with her last scene. I won't ruin the ending but she is great.

As usual, I guessed many of the plot points, but I found many people in the theater were surprised and this is because it isn't obvious. I only caught on because I was trained to catch every little bit in stories because they are placed for a reason. Expect many twists and turns and even some emotional heartbreak from this film!

For those that find violence and blood to make them a bit squeamish, see this film with a friend or significant other so you can grab onto them but don't let the blood deter you from seeing it. It is great.
