Wow, I am lucky. For my first review I actually enjoyed the movie so I don't have to fictionalize my enthusiasm. I saw Tangled tonight with my boyfriend and some good friends and I loved it! This movie reminded me of the wonderful Disney films that I loved as a child. It's a great combination of the classic Princess Stories, among the likes of Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty, with the more modern Disney Princesses that kick butt like Belle, Jasmine, and Ariel. In my opinion, Rapunzel will join these Disney greats.
Tangled has everything every Disney Princess movie needs to excel: a Princess, her true love and an evil force trying to keep them apart. Combine this with some comic relieving side-kicks, in this case a chameleon and a horse, named Pascal and Maximus respectively, and you have a winner! In addition to this, it has my favorite addition to modern Disney Princess films: women characters standing up for themselves and those they love instead of always lying around, waiting for a man to save them...and they still get the man! It's win-win!
Let's say the soundtrack is no Beauty and the Beast but it's hard to beat those tunes. Still, the songs are catchy and had me swaying to the songs. Mandy Moore's voice sings beautifully from Rapunzel's mouth and, I don't want to give anything away but look forward to the bar song with the thugs!
This movie had a wonderful combination of comedy, romance and adventure and i would recommend it to anyone, young or old but especially to little girls who need a new princess to admire.
Rating- 1 Spoonful (We needed a little sugar-coating)
I was looking forward to seeing this one, now I really want to see it.
ReplyDeleteI loved this movie! Make sure you bring someone you are close to and can really cuddle with because you will cry! But still a great movie!
